Some characters simply enter a scene.

And then there is Barnabas.
With his impossible hat, his coat, his cane, and the way he carries himself as though the garden were his own, he seems to have stepped straight out of another era.
We know very little about him.
We only know that he is always impeccably dressed, that he seems to have somewhere important to be, and that he never seems to be in a hurry.
Beside him, however, there is someone who seems to know him very well.
His black cat.
The cat needs no hat, no cane, and no grand manner.
He simply walks beside Barnabas as though it were the most natural thing in the world.
And perhaps it is.
After all, in The Attic, even extravagant gentlemen need company. 🐈⬛🍂
